SALC White Ribbon Walk

SALC White Ribbon Walk

22nd November 2019; 6:30am start at Victoria Square.

Although we are greatly saddened by White Ribbon Australia closing it doors we are committed to raising awareness around mens violence towards women so will be going ahead with our event walking alongside the international White Ribbon Movement.

We are two 2019 South Australian Learning Center (SALC) Students finishing our Diploma of Community Services. As part of our placement we decided to create a Violence Prevention Project walk departing from Tarndanyangga/Victoria Square at and arriving at the Rotunda at SALC North Brighton to host a Take the White Ribbon Oath ceremony.

We are encouraging men to be a part of this walk to support women’s groups , raise awareness in schools  for the International  White Ribbon Campaign.

“In 1967 we were counted, in 2017 we seek to be heard. We leave base camp and start our trek across this vast country. We invite you to walk with us in a movement of the Australian people for a better future.”- ULURU STATEMENT FROM THE HEART
